After moving to new house my treadmill stopped working, I called Boost Gym Service and Igor came the next day to repair it. He did everything super fast and professionally, explained how I can do maintenance by myself and gave useful tips. The price was fair. Thank you so much, will definitely use the service again. Highly recommend in Palisades Park!

Arthur came and looked at my Treadmill found the issue, and said it needed maintenance, which I knew it did, I asked if he could do it, his office called me back with a total price. Arthur did the maintenance and showed me what he did, the Machine looked like new, he was very pleasant, and would certainly reach out to him again.

Arthur was fantastic. He arrived and let us know the problems we had with the treadmill and showed me each part that needed repair. In the end, we decided not to repair our treadmill, but it was a good experience working with this company.

Faculty housing along Prospect Avenue and the large Victorians on Library Place tend to have dedicated workout spaces — finished basements and third-floor home gyms are common here. That's where most of the Life Fitness and Technogym ellipticals we service in Princeton live. Humidity from Carnegie Lake-adjacent properties accelerates internal wear faster than owners expect, especially in those older crawl-space foundations off Mercer Street.

Most of Princeton proper falls in 08540, covering blocks of colonial and Victorian homes built as far back as the 1880s near Nassau Street. Those basements get genuinely damp in spring — rough on the resistance motor and console electronics in a Precor EFX or Life Fitness E5. Newer builds off Route 27 toward Kingston run cleaner electrical, but older circuits near campus still pull hard under the 20-amp load a commercial-grade elliptical demands.

Common Elliptical Issues in Princeton

Crank Bearing Wear from Basement Humidity in Older Princeton Homes

Squeaking and grinding during your stride usually traces back to dry or corroding crank bearings — a direct result of moisture in the unfinished basements common to 08540's pre-1920 housing stock. Peloton Row and older Life Fitness models are especially sensitive because their sealed bearing assemblies trap condensation once the factory grease breaks down. Left alone, worn bearings score the crank shaft and turn a $90 repair into a $400 one.

Resistance Stuck at One Level — Magnetic Brake and Motor Failures

Technogym Excite and Precor EFX units with resistance that won't budge almost always point to a failed magnetic resistance motor or a broken wiring harness to the resistance assembly. Power fluctuations on older Princeton circuits — especially in homes near Washington Road where panel wiring dates to the 1960s — can fry the motor driver board over time. Diagnostic takes about 15 minutes; most parts arrive within two business days.

Console Error Codes and Display Failures on Peloton and NordicTrack Units

Peloton ellipticals and NordicTrack FS10i units throw console error codes most often after power surges or battery backup failures. The control board sits close to the flywheel housing and picks up vibration — solder joints crack on machines that log serious hours. Reseating the ribbon cable clears roughly 30% of codes; actual control board replacement handles the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can you get to Princeton for Elliptical Repair?

Most 08540 jobs are same-day or next morning. We come down Route 1 or 206 depending on traffic. Street parking near Nassau Street is tighter than it looks — give us your address when you schedule online and we'll plan accordingly. Afternoon slots fill fast on weekdays.

Do you repair Peloton, Life Fitness, and Technogym ellipticals?

Yes to all three. Peloton Elliptical+, Life Fitness E-series, and Technogym Excite are the machines we see most in Princeton homes. Typical fixes: drive belt replacements on Peloton units, resistance motor swaps on Technogym, and console board reseating on Life Fitness.

What does elliptical repair typically cost in Princeton?

Diagnostic visit is flat-rate and applied toward the repair if you proceed. Crank bearing jobs typically run $150–220 in parts and labor; control board replacements go $180–350 depending on the model. Same-day service is available for most Princeton addresses — schedule online or call to confirm a slot.
