After moving to new house my treadmill stopped working, I called Boost Gym Service and Igor came the next day to repair it. He did everything super fast and professionally, explained how I can do maintenance by myself and gave useful tips. The price was fair. Thank you so much, will definitely use the service again. Highly recommend in Palisades Park!

Arthur came and looked at my Treadmill found the issue, and said it needed maintenance, which I knew it did, I asked if he could do it, his office called me back with a total price. Arthur did the maintenance and showed me what he did, the Machine looked like new, he was very pleasant, and would certainly reach out to him again.

Arthur was fantastic. He arrived and let us know the problems we had with the treadmill and showed me each part that needed repair. In the end, we decided not to repair our treadmill, but it was a good experience working with this company.

Cream Ridge Road cuts through Upper Freehold's horse country, and behind those split-rail fences are finished basement gyms with Schwinn IC4 and NordicTrack S22i bikes on concrete slabs from the 1960s. Those slabs were never climate-controlled or vented. Come July, humidity in those basements climbs into the 70-80% range — and that's when the calls start. Drive belts stretch and slip. Resistance modules stop responding mid-workout. The bike isn't broken. The environment has been working against it since day one.

The 08514 zip covers most of Upper Freehold — equestrian properties along Walnford Road, 1960s ranch houses spread along Route 524, and newer Colonials clustered near Cream Ridge and the Allentown Borough line at 08501. Basement setups in the older ranch-era stock weren't built for fitness equipment — low ventilation, no insulation in the floor joists, concrete that wicks moisture all summer, and electrical panels not sized for the 20-amp draws motorized spin bikes need. Newer builds around Cream Ridge handle it better. The ranch and colonial stock from the 60s and 70s is where most calls come from.

Common Spin Bike Issues in Upper Freehold Township

Poly-V Drive Belt Slipping in Ranch-Era Basement Humidity

The poly-V drive belt on a Schwinn IC4 is sized for stable, climate-controlled conditions. Basements in the 1960s ranch houses across 08514 routinely hit 70%+ relative humidity by mid-July — enough to cause belt material to swell slightly and lose grip on the flywheel pulley. Uneven pedaling comes first, then outright slipping under load. Left alone, it accelerates wear on the pulley itself. Belt replacement plus tensioner adjustment runs about two hours, and we keep IC4 belts on the truck. No ordering and waiting.

Magnetic Resistance Controller Failure from Rural Power Instability

Upper Freehold's rural grid sees more voltage variation than suburban areas — summer thunderstorms cause brief brownouts when neighboring farms and properties pull heavy AC load simultaneously. The magnetic resistance controller on NordicTrack S22i and Echelon EX-5 bikes doesn't handle that well. The control board degrades quietly over months. Resistance becomes erratic at the higher levels first, then certain increments drop out completely. Many people assume it's a calibration issue and keep riding. It's the control board — and it needs replacing. We carry both models in stock.

Seat Post Clamp Corrosion and Look Delta Pedal Cleat Cracking

Peloton Bike and Bike+ models stored in unheated garages or converted barn spaces through Upper Freehold winters face a specific failure: aluminum seat post against a steel clamp cycling through 30-40°F temperature swings across months. The clamp mechanism seizes shut. Forcing it strips the adjustment threads, turning a $40 fix into a full post replacement. Separately, Look Delta pedal cleats become brittle in freeze-thaw cycling and crack at the clip-in point — a failure most riders mistake for a drivetrain issue until we pull the cleat off.
