After moving to new house my treadmill stopped working, I called Boost Gym Service and Igor came the next day to repair it. He did everything super fast and professionally, explained how I can do maintenance by myself and gave useful tips. The price was fair. Thank you so much, will definitely use the service again. Highly recommend in Palisades Park!

Arthur came and looked at my Treadmill found the issue, and said it needed maintenance, which I knew it did, I asked if he could do it, his office called me back with a total price. Arthur did the maintenance and showed me what he did, the Machine looked like new, he was very pleasant, and would certainly reach out to him again.

Arthur was fantastic. He arrived and let us know the problems we had with the treadmill and showed me each part that needed repair. In the end, we decided not to repair our treadmill, but it was a good experience working with this company.

Basements in Orange's pre-war Colonials off Scotland Road hold moisture year-round — sometimes 70% relative humidity by late August. That works into the flywheel housing on a Schwinn IC4 faster than most people realize, and by the time it's grinding under load, the bearing race is already pitted. Essex County doesn't have a humidity problem quite like the 07050 corridor does, and stationary bikes stored below grade pay the price.

Most of 07050 is dense with housing built between 1920 and 1950 — row houses on High Street, two-families on Lincoln Avenue, older Colonials throughout the Scotland Road corridor. Climate-controlled storage isn't common here. Bikes end up in basements or tight spare bedrooms, cycling through cold winters and humid summers. That pattern accelerates wear on rubber tension straps, flywheel bearings, and console wiring faster than the manufacturer specs account for.

Common Stationary Bike Issues in Orange

Flywheel Grinding From Below-Grade Storage

Damp basement conditions — common throughout the Scotland Road area — let condensation work into flywheel bearing housings over one or two seasons. On Schwinn upright bikes specifically, the sealed bearing races pit before the grinding noise even starts. Catching it early means a bearing assembly swap. Miss it and the shaft wears down, which is a significantly harder repair.

Resistance Knob Frozen or Slipping Mid-Ride

Felt resistance pads compress unevenly on bikes that sit unused for months, then take hard daily sessions. ProForm and Sunny Health bikes see this constantly — the friction pad binds against the flywheel rim at the contact point, and the adjustment knob either freezes or spins without changing resistance. A worn resistance pad replacement usually wraps up same visit.

Console Dropping Signal or Going Completely Dark

Older homes in Orange — particularly near the NJ Transit Orange station on Day Street — often run 100-amp panels that dip under load. NordicTrack and Peloton consoles with Bluetooth modules are sensitive to voltage fluctuation; the ribbon cable connection to the display board also loosens over time from vibration. Reseating the connector and testing the DC power adapter clears most cases.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can you get to Orange for stationary bike repair?

Most Orange jobs get same-day or next-morning scheduling. Route 280 and the Garden State Parkway make 07050 a straightforward stop from anywhere in Essex County. Street parking works fine on most residential blocks. Call (908) 820-3982 or book a window online.

Do you repair Schwinn, NordicTrack, and Peloton bikes?

Yes — those three are the most common calls in Orange. Schwinn IC4 flywheel bearings, NordicTrack drive belt replacements, Peloton bottom bracket and pedal thread repairs. ProForm and Sunny Health units too. Bring the model number if you have it.

What does a stationary bike repair typically cost, and how long does it take?

Most repairs fall between $85 and $180 depending on parts. Pedal bearing replacements and felt pad swaps land on the lower end; console board issues run higher. Diagnosis happens on-site, quote before any work starts. Mechanical repairs are usually same-day.
