After moving to new house my treadmill stopped working, I called Boost Gym Service and Igor came the next day to repair it. He did everything super fast and professionally, explained how I can do maintenance by myself and gave useful tips. The price was fair. Thank you so much, will definitely use the service again. Highly recommend in Palisades Park!

Arthur came and looked at my Treadmill found the issue, and said it needed maintenance, which I knew it did, I asked if he could do it, his office called me back with a total price. Arthur did the maintenance and showed me what he did, the Machine looked like new, he was very pleasant, and would certainly reach out to him again.

Arthur was fantastic. He arrived and let us know the problems we had with the treadmill and showed me each part that needed repair. In the end, we decided not to repair our treadmill, but it was a good experience working with this company.

The Victorians and colonials packed along South Street and the side streets off Morris Avenue in 07960 are full of home gyms — plenty of them anchored by a Peloton or Keiser that's been running hard since 2020. Finished basements in these older Morristown houses see real temperature swings between January and August, and that cycle of humidity accelerates belt wear and corrodes resistance components faster than most owners expect. Something slips or stops adjusting right, and suddenly a $2,000 bike is collecting dust.

Morristown's housing stock runs the gamut — pre-war Victorians near the Green in 07960, 1960s colonials off Speedwell Avenue, newer townhome clusters closer to Morris Plains. Older construction means basements that weren't built with ventilation in mind. A Peloton or NordicTrack Commercial S22i parked in an unfinished corner of one of those basements picks up ambient moisture year-round. That moisture gets into flywheel bearings and brake pad assemblies, shortening service life considerably compared to bikes kept upstairs or in climate-controlled spaces.

Common Spin Bike Issues in Morristown

Drive belt slipping on Peloton and Echelon bikes

The drive belt on a Peloton Original or Echelon EX-5S stretches with use, but basement humidity in Morristown's older homes accelerates degradation. A slipping belt usually means the belt tensioner has drifted or the belt itself has hardened and cracked at the inner teeth. Left alone, you'll start hearing a rhythmic slap on every pedal stroke — then the belt snaps mid-ride.

Magnetic resistance knob stops responding mid-range

Keiser M3i and NordicTrack S22i bikes use a magnetic resistance mechanism that can develop dead spots — you turn the knob but the flywheel load doesn't change until you hit a higher setting. That usually points to a worn resistance motor encoder or a corroded gear in the adjustment assembly. Common in bikes that sit in unheated garages or damp basements through Morristown winters.

Pedal spindle loosening and cleat interface damage

Look-Delta and SPD cleats take a beating on high-use bikes. The pedal spindle threads — especially on Peloton bikes running stock Look Delta pedals — can strip if the pedal was overtightened at installation or if the spindle got wet and corroded. Replacing just the spindle cartridge is a straightforward fix; catching it before the crank arm threads go is the important part.
