After moving to new house my treadmill stopped working, I called Boost Gym Service and Igor came the next day to repair it. He did everything super fast and professionally, explained how I can do maintenance by myself and gave useful tips. The price was fair. Thank you so much, will definitely use the service again. Highly recommend in Palisades Park!

Arthur came and looked at my Treadmill found the issue, and said it needed maintenance, which I knew it did, I asked if he could do it, his office called me back with a total price. Arthur did the maintenance and showed me what he did, the Machine looked like new, he was very pleasant, and would certainly reach out to him again.

Arthur was fantastic. He arrived and let us know the problems we had with the treadmill and showed me each part that needed repair. In the end, we decided not to repair our treadmill, but it was a good experience working with this company.

Arthur was super professional and friendly; was immediately able to pinpoint the issue and solution. Would definitely recommend!!

Salt air off the Kill Van Kull doesn't stop at the door. Row houses near Bergen Point and the walk-ups along Avenue C see it year-round, and it works its way into the flywheel housing on NordicTrack and Schwinn bikes parked in spare bedrooms or basements. Resistance mechanisms corrode faster here than in most of Hudson County — not because the bikes are cheap, but because Bayonne sits on a peninsula with water on three sides.

Most of 07002 is pre-war row housing and 1950s brick apartments — buildings that weren't designed for a 70-pound spin bike in the third bedroom. Basements near the waterfront blocks off 8th Street run damp from April through October. That moisture is exactly what destroys the flywheel bearing and resistance felt pad on mid-range bikes over 18 months. It's not a brand problem; it's a location problem.

Common Stationary Bike Issues in Bayonne

Flywheel Grinding After Sitting Through a Humid Bayonne Summer

A flywheel bearing that ran fine last March can develop a dry, metallic grind by September. The sealed bearing housing on Schwinn IC4 and NordicTrack S22i bikes traps condensation during temperature swings between the basement and heated living space. Left alone, the bearing seizes and takes the flywheel axle with it — a $300+ repair instead of a $45 bearing swap.

Resistance Knob That Spins But Does Nothing

The magnetic resistance brake on most mid-range bikes uses a small adjustment cable connecting the knob to the magnet carriage. That cable frays at the ferrule end — especially on Sunny Health and Marcy bikes where the routing passes near the crank arm. Feels like the knob stripped, but it's the cable, not the mechanism. Twenty-minute fix once you have the right 1.2mm cable and a proper crimping tool.

Pedal That Wobbles or Pulls Left on Every Stroke

A loose pedal crank bearing usually starts as a faint click at the bottom of the stroke. Ignore it for a month and the crank spindle wears an oval into the bearing race — at that point the whole crank arm needs replacing. Common on Peloton Bike+ units past 18 months of heavy use, and on ProForm Carbon bikes where the pedal thread tolerance runs loose from the factory.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can you get to Bayonne for Stationary Bike Repair?

Bayonne is a straight shot down Route 440 from our service corridor — typical response is same-day or next morning depending on parts. Parking near row houses on the numbered avenues can be tight; let us know and we'll confirm access before arrival. Call to schedule or book online.

Do you repair Peloton and NordicTrack bikes in Bayonne?

Yes — Peloton Bike and Bike+, NordicTrack S and Commercial series, Schwinn IC and 170/270 upright models. Most common fixes are console PCB replacements on NordicTrack, resistance brake calibration on Peloton, and flywheel bearing swaps on Schwinn. We stock most parts locally.

What does a typical stationary bike repair cost in Bayonne?

Diagnostic visit is flat-rate, credited toward repair. Bearing swaps and cable repairs usually run $65–$120 in parts and labor. Console replacements are higher — depends on the model. Same-day service available for most mechanical issues. Call us at the number on this page to get a quote before we show up.
